Photography Bootcamp 2013 Prep

Below you will find required viewing to prepare yourself for the upcoming Photography Bootcamp, July 29-31, 2013. This video and website reading will help to prepare you for the hands on training you will receive at Bootcamp.

Commit this term to memory: PHOTOGRAPHIC ALGEBRA. I will explain this using my method during Bootcamp, but this video will give you a primer and will allow you to understand what I am saying.
The 3 Basics of Exposure & Photography

After Bootcamp, you will have no excuse to bring under exposed (dark) or over exposed (too bright) images into our lab. You will be required to understand the Histogram and how to read it quickly and make adjustments as needed to create the quality of images that is expected.

How to Read Your Histogram

You will be allowed to shoot in only two camera modes while you are in my class; Manual and Aperture Priority. You must understand Aperture. Watch this video.

Understanding Aperture Value

We have to learn off camera flash very quickly and you must learn the nomenclature before you can begin to set up lights in the gym or in the studio.

Strobist Prelims

Use the flash cards to help you learn the nomenclature of photography.

Watch this video. List all of the gear/techniques/people/products ect that are listed. Research these items and bring them with you to BootCamp. This will be your first grade of this first grading period.
